FAQs

Our vacation rentals are situated in the heart of Newton County, surrounded by the majestic beauty of the Ozarks. Feel free to wander and explore our 37 acres of beautiful wilderness while you are here. This can be a wondrous opportunity for you to take a day hike or take some photos. There is nowhere on Earth that feels quite like the Ozarks!

Remember To Respect The Wildlife

It is important to remember to be mindful of your surroundings, as there are many forms of wildlife that inhabit our property. Alongside our deer and elk are some animals that could use a little space.

Please respect the boundaries of all wildlife, and always remember that this is their home. We have bobcats, raccoons, and even bears that can wander through. While they might seem cute, keep your distance while admiring them.

The Little Critters Deserve Your Attention, As Well

Be sure to keep an eye out for our eight-legged friends, as well! In the summer, arachnids like ticks and spiders are more active, just like we are. Newton County is home to many of these critters, and while they mostly keep to themselves, it is important to recognize that they do exist in this area of the country. Keeping the outside doors shut when not in use is a helpful way that you can prevent wildlife from making their way inside! How Do I Keep The Ozark Soil Out?

In order to have the most comfortable stay possible, there are a few other tips to enjoy your time at our vacation rentals. Just like with our wildlife, our soil can find its way into the home if you are not careful. While not a house rule, we suggest that you take off your shoes whenever you enter your rental. This can help you and your family to stay tidy while you are here.

You also may come across areas with uneven ground or loose rocks. If you choose to venture off our gravel portions, remember that you are stepping into untamed wilderness. Be careful to avoid any holes or drop-offs that you encounter. Always keep in mind that this is forest land, not a city park!

Where Can I Find Local Restaurants And Shops?

If you are looking to pick up some provisions for your stay, there are options within a short drive from your rental. With just a 20-minute drive you will find your nearest restaurant, gas station, Dollar General, and liquor store.

JJ’s Buffalo Bar and Grill is a staple in the area, serving burgers and wings. They also host karaoke on the weekends, and this is not to be missed. And check out the Daisy Queen HiBoy, which gives you that old-fashioned hamburger joint feel. Since 1969, they have been providing the best Southern food in the area!
