1 Bedroom • 1 Bathroom 1 Bath • Sleeps 1-2Experience surprising comfort at the Butterfly House. Our 37acre property is bordered on the Southern property line by the Buffalo National River Park land, 2 miles from the river, & 6 miles from the Pruitt access point. This area is known for beautiful hiking, wildlife, & floating nearby. Branson is 55 minutes North if live entertainment, shopping, or a day in the city is your thing. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventures or peace & tranquility, the Butterfly House won’t disappoint.
The Butterfly House is a converted 8’X40’ shipping container packed with 320 square feet of comfort. The covered deck provides 400 square feet of additional outdoor living space and is a perfect place to enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding forest.
Keep in mind-this is Newton County. When I say the dirt roads are rough, I’m not kidding. Jeeps, AWD, 4WD will have no issues at all. Small cars will most likely make it, but it is going to be rough. If it’s a rainy time of the year, expect mud, and lots of it in spots.
You’ll have everything needed to prepare a proper meal, with a large apron front sink, apartment size refrigerator with freezer, two burner hot plate, crockpot, and an airfryer/toaster oven combination make meal prep a breeze. A microwave is handy for quick reheats. The grill on the deck has a prep table, side burner, cookware, and grilling utensils. Feel free to use the complimentary spices and seasoning as needed.
The bathroom is anything but tiny with a full size shower/bath combination, toilet with bidet, live edge vanity with oversized vessel sink, toiletries, hair dryer, towels and wash cloths, as well as many commonly forgotten items.
With only 320 square feet of interior space, we committed most of the area to the necessities. Additionally, we included a small laundry room with a clothes rod for a few hanging items. Cleaning supplies are available as well as washing detergent to be used if you need to run a load of wash in our small capacity washer/dryer combination unit.
We saved just enough space for a 50” wall mounted smart TV and a small seating area with a compact love seat, although we anticipate most guests will prefer the views from the deck over the TV. It’s just dreamy out there.
This is Newton County. You may see deer, elk, turkeys, bobcats, snakes, or even a bear during your stay. Be mindful of nature, because you will be staying in the wilderness.
The shipping containers are treated for spiders and pests for your comfort. The best way to keep the outside out is to keep doors and windows closed. It’s advisable to use insect spray when hiking, stay on paths or clear areas where you can see where you’re stepping.
The Butterfly House has been lovingly created with charming decor, original artwork, and plentiful amenities. We’ve maximized every inch to provide our guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. If experiencing a shipping container is appealing to you, you’re in for a treat.
Feel free to explore the areas near the containers and the road down towards the holler. We just ask that you be respectful of any other guests that may be staying in our other tiny home nearby or at the main house down the road.
I’m available through messenger at all times. If I’m not on the property, our on site builder is also available to assist, and our housekeeper is nearby. You will have the privacy you crave, but also the support you desire.
The Erbie/Marble Falls area is a rural community near 206 and Scenic Highway 7. Our 37 acre property is a secluded section of forest off dirt/gravel county roads with a private drive, gated/electric keypad at the entrance, and monitored security cameras.
The county road conditions vary depending on rain and snow. Although they are maintained by the county and are often passable with 2WD vehicles, 4WD/AWD is recommended during wet seasons. Road conditions change quickly with heavy precipitation. Elk, turkey, and deer are sometimes spotted as you near our property. Drive carefully and enjoy the scenic route.
The property cannot be accessed by using our street address. You will be sent GPS coordinates/PIN to copy into navigation tools, as well as detailed directions on reaching our property. A map will also be sent in the event you don’t have signal at some point. Some guests have had issues with using GPS coordinates, so very detailed directions are listed with maps on the “Directions” section of our listing.
A security gate will give peace of mind with only one other family owning land on our side of the mountain. Our 37 acres begin at the second Y in the long gravel driveway after the electric security gate and extends to the creek at the bottom of the hollow. Our Southern most property boundary is the Buffalo National River Park lands with our Northern boundary marked by a gate and wire fencing back in the woods. Parking spaces and gate access points are monitored with live stream security cameras for safety and security.
